Behind the initiative stands Ami Bentov, whose vision was born from human encounters with meaning. Over years of work and documentation, he was repeatedly exposed to the power of faith, belonging, and symbols in the most complex and challenging moments.
During a professional visit to the Technion, he was introduced to a Nano Bible – and from that moment, the journey began:
to transform a technological marvel that belonged to the world of research,
into something people could carry with them.
This vision led to collaborations with research institutions and industry in Israel, and from it emerged the Jerusalem Nano Bible – a tiny 5×5 mm chip that carries an entire world of text.
A Partnership That Began Last Season
One Saturday, about a year ago, during a visit to Yarkon Park, Ami Bentov was exposed up close to rugby activity. There he met Oren Alt, Rugby Manager at Maccabi Tel Aviv, whom he knew from the past. The two had worked together previously, and even back then Oren often spoke about rugby and the values that define the game. During that meeting, they discussed the upcoming Maccabiah Games and the possibility of collaboration.
Even after the postponement of the Maccabiah, the connection continued and deepened. Bentov remained engaged, followed activity across the leagues, and took time to get to know the people and values that drive Israeli rugby. From this ongoing relationship, a natural decision emerged to join and support the Union’s activities, as part of a long-term journey built on commitment, community, and a shared path.
Honoring Excellence in Israeli Rugby Leagues
As part of the new partnership, Jerusalem Nano Bible has chosen to express its support by recognizing excellence in the Israeli leagues. A Nano Bible jewelry piece will be awarded to the outstanding male and female players.
