Dramatic ending sends Regional League into grandstand finale

It was another week of quality dramatic rugby in the inaugural regional league. Quality professional rugby was on full display as the Golden Jackals and the Northern Stars played to a thrilling 30:30 tie. Both teams in turn fought gallantly back from losing positions with the Jackals missing a difficult conversion to win as time expired.

The two teams will now meat for a a decider after the Jackals defeated the Stars 17:23 early in the series.

“A game of two halves”, said Rugby Israel technical director and national team coach Kevin Musikanth., “The north were a pleasant surprise in controlling the first half attacking into the wind. The Jackals came back with their big ball carriers, Israel international Misha Eli, future international Nazir Gasanov, the addition of Mhleli Dlamini, and another good match by Thabiso Mdletshe. On the other hand great to tries from Fijian fullback Peceli Nacebe and 100% kicking from Mark Morrison for the north.”

Musikanth selected Gasanov and Morrison as Men of the match for their respective teams.

Both Israeli sides will now face off against RC Armia of Georgia, which will be the first European sports team to play in Israel since the start of the war.
