נבחרת הגברים של ישראל ברוגבי שביעיות השלימה סוף שבוע מושלם באנדורה, לאחר שזכתה במקום הראשון בטורנירה־Conference של אליפות אירופה. בגמר הרשימה הנבחרת עם ניצחון 38:10 על אוסטריה והניפה את גביע האליפות, הישג שמבטיח את עלייתה לדרג ה־Trophy של אליפות אירופה בעונת 2027.
ישראל הציגה יכולת מרשימה לאורך כל הטורניר וסיימה אותו עם מאזן מושלם של חמישה ניצחונות בחמישה משחקים. בשלב הבתים גברה הנבחרת על פינלנד, בולגריה וקפריסין, ובכך הבטיחה את מקומה בחצי הגמר.
בחצי הגמר המשיכה הנבחרת במומנטום עם ניצחון 28:17 על קפריסין, ובמשחק הגמר לא הותירה מקום לספק כשגברה 38:10 על אוסטריה בדרך לזכייה באליפות.
לאורך הטורניר הציגה ישראל משחק התקפי איכותי לצד הגנה חזקה, והוכיחה עליונות מול יריבותיה בדרך לזכייה בתואר. מעבר לגביע, המשמעות של ההישג היא גם מקצועית: ישראל תהיה בין הנבחרות שישחקו בעונה הבאה בדרג ה־Trophy, המהווה את הדרג השני של אליפויות אירופה ברוגבי שביעיות.

Dream Weekend for Israeli Rugby as Men's Team Wins European Title and Women Claim Bronze
Israel's Men's Rugby Sevens team completed a perfect weekend in Andorra by winning the Rugby Europe Conference Championship. In the final, Israel defeated Austria 38-10 to lift the trophy and secure promotion to the Rugby Europe Trophy division for the 2027 season.
Israel impressed throughout the tournament, finishing with a perfect record of five wins from five matches. The team opened with victories over Finland, Bulgaria and Cyprus in the pool stage to book its place in the semifinals.
Israel carried its momentum into the knockout rounds, defeating Cyprus 28-17 in the semifinal before producing another dominant display against Austria in the final to capture the European Conference title.
Beyond the championship itself, the victory has significant sporting importance. Promotion to the Rugby Europe Trophy division, the second tier of European Rugby Sevens, means Israel will face stronger opposition next season as it continues its climb through the European rugby system.
Omer Levinson, captain of Israel's Men's Rugby Sevens team, said:
"Our preparation was short but extremely intensive and of a very high standard. We improved from match to match, received tremendous support from back home, achieved our goal and earned our place back in the division where we believe we belong. Reaching this stage is an incredible feeling, and it is a great honor for all of us."
